Teaching activity at UAM

The low temperature laboratory members run different courses with focus on low temperature subjects:

- Graduate Low Temperature Physics course.

- Graduate Advanced Low Temperature Physics course.

- Undergraduate experimental physics laboratory (Trabajo Fin de Grado), where students run practicals such as:

  • Giaever’s tunneling experiment.
  • Andronikhashvilii’s experiment.
  • Second sound.
  • Specific heat of liquid helium.
  • Synthesis and characterization of superconductors.
  • AC susceptibility measurement of the superconducting transition.
  • High Tc superconductors.
  • Stirling refrigerator.
  • Piezoelectrics.
  • Scanning Tunneling Microscopy.
  • Quantum point contacts.
